The Brazilian government is preparing a proposal a law to authorize the sale of rural property to foreigners, said the Minister of Finance, Henrique Meirelles,  in an interview with GloboNews that the government is preparing to authorize the sale of land to foreigners. He gave no more details about the measure nor any hint about the legal mechanism  it would be used to change current legislation. Government prohibited such aquisitions in 2010, concerned that funds from Asia could buy what was then feared as “excessive land”.
