VW Virtus sedan teased, confirmed for Brazil
Herman Heiss, Volkswagen’s general manager of cars, at the Genova Motor Show talked about Virtus, a new VW sedan made for Brazil and other Latin American markets.
According to the executive, Vitus will use the modular platform MQB (the same as Golf), in a strategy aimed at recovering the brand in the local market. MQB will form the basis for a number of other Volkswagen Group models in the future, including the next-gen VW Polo and next-gen Audi A1.
Early testing of the VW Virtus has already commenced in Brazil.
