The Brazilian environment protection agency (Ibama) denied a VW appeal and maintained a fine of R $ 50 million  (around $ 16 million) applied to the German car company for fraud in gas emission tests conducted in the laboratory with vehicles of the Amarok line 2011/2012. The agency reported that an evaluation made  by the São Paulo State Environmental Company (Cetesb) in January at the request of Ibama pointed out that the Amarok veins tested contained a device that reduced by 0.26 grams per kilometer (g / km) on average the real emission of pollutants during laboratory tests.
