Finance Minister Santiago Peña was visited by the new Brazilian ambassador to Paraguay, Carlos Alberto Simas Magalhães, at the ministerial headquarters. At the end of the meeting, the diplomat said that they addressed economic issues, such as the boost of trade in local currency. He also mentioned that another of the points of the meeting was the investment protection project, and the ways in which this negotiation could be reactivated. The diplomat also highlighted the commercial reciprocity between the two countries, and mentioned the Brazilian investment in Paraguay, “which continues to arrive, generating employment, income and creating economic opportunities for Paraguay.” Simas Magalhães, who was accompanied by other members of the Brazilian delegation, also referred to the automotive agreement between Brazil and Paraguay, which is on the agenda and for which it is necessary to reach a consensus between both governments.
