Cyprus-headquartered Prosafe said the vessel was laid up in Curacao and will be sold for scrap. The Oslo-listed firm made the same decision with its Lancia vessel in March. It takes the number of vessels to be scrapped under the strategy to four.
In its latest fleet status update, Prosafe said its utilisation rate in the first quarter of 2017 was 40%, a sign in the drop-off in activity following the oil price crash.
Safe Boreas was in full operation during the quarter on Repsol Sinopec’s Montrose Area Redevelopment in the North Sea.
Safe Zephyrus completed the contract with Aker BP in Norway at the end of January and is currently laid-up in the UK.
Safe Notos and Safe Concordia were fully contracted to Petrobras over the three months.
Safe Scandinavia was fully contracted with Statoil.
Regalia, Safe Bristolia, Safe Astoria and Safe Regency were idle in the quarter.
