Royal Enfield makes a new international foray into South American country of Brazil. The company that set up shop in India in 1962 and operates from the Indian Royal Enfield plant in Tiruvottiyur in Chennai, has now opened a flagship store in Avenida República do Líbano, 2070, Moema, Sao Paulo. At the same time, they have also established a distributor and dealer in Columbia.
Royal Enfield plans initial launch with a product lineup of three models sporting single cylinder engines upto 535cc. These include company’s three models such as the standard street model – Bullet 500, retro street model – Classic 500 and Continental GT (535cc) cafe racer. Model lineup will be enhanced in the future depending on sales.
Royal Enfield Brazil will be selling these products to dealers across the country and also offer front end development and support activities to include marketing and after sales service. Claudio Giusti, Country Manager, Royal Enfield Brazil, will be responsible for all operations in the country that would include marketing, sales, communication and after sales service.
Royal Enfield North America was set up in 2015 while the company also has a strong presence in Columbia. Noting increased opportunity in Brazil, the company wishes to cater to the demands in the mid sized motorcycle market across Latin America. Brazil could also become of Royal Enfield bastion markets outside of India taking the company ahead to become a global leader in the middle weight motorcycle segment.
