Petainer has launched a business in Brazil to aid its expansion in the Latin American region.

The UK-based PET keg manufacturer is targeting Brazil as it is the world’s third largest beer market behind China and the US, with craft beer sales growing 40 per cent annually.

Chris McEwan, group business development director, said: “Latin America is of strategic importance to Petainer, particularly in terms of growing our one-way PET keg business. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ricardo Leonel Vieira who has excellent local market expertise and a successful track record in building businesses in the region.”

The business will officially launch during Brasil Brau at the end of July. Ricardo Leonel Vieira will be responsible for growing Petainer’s share of the Brazilian market, managing the relationship with partners such as KHS and expanding the distributor network in the region.
