Volkswagen to make 830 million in investments in Brazil

Volkswagen do Brasil announced this Monday (14) BRL 2.6 billion (USD 830 million) in investments in its plant in São Bernardo do Campo, in São Paulo metro area, as part of an investments package of BRL 7 billion (USD 2.23 billion) in its Brazilian operation until 2020.

The plant will manufacture two new models: the hatch Polo, to be launched in the year’s last quarter, and the sedan Virtus, which should arrive at car dealers in 2018’s Q1.

In a statement, the automaker announced that the amount will be allocated to development, plant modernization, products’ certification and validation tests, local auto parts development, training and marketing action for the launching of the models in the Brazilian market.
