Brazil reopens milk imports from Uruguay

After suspending imports of powdered milk from Uruguay for almost a month, the Ministry of Agriculture decided on Monday (Nov.6) to revoke the restriction, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

The decision was taken by the Brazilian government after an on-site audit in Uruguay, carried out by inspectors of the Ministry of Agriculture throughout last week, found no evidence of triangulation between the Uruguayan milk with other countries’, such as Argentina or Nova Zealand.

With the announcement of this decision it is lost the reason to a meeting scheduled for Tuesday to examine the matter, by a commission of the Brazilian Senate.
