Confins Airport: Infraero in conflict of interests

BH Airport,   Confins Airport’s  concessionaire, has notified Infraero and the federal government to comment on the conflict of interest in the decision taken two weeks ago to reopen Pampulha Airport in Belo Horizonte for interstate flights.

Infraero ( a federal governemnt company) holds 49% of the Confins concession capital (near Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais state), which is controlled by private shareholders CCR and Zurich Airport.

But Infraero  controls Pampulha Airport.According to the decision, the reopening of Pampulha can take 2 million passengers a year from the airport of Confins, which may render domestic and international flights unfeasible, claims BH Airport.

“We  understand that, with this measure, our [Infraero] partner is in a conflict of interest,” said Marcus Senna, legal director of CCR.
