The crisis that currently divides the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) regarding the party’s permanence in Michel Temer’s government produced an unexpected unfolding this Monday (Nov.13), with the resignation of the Minister of Cities, Bruno Araújo.

Araujo’s decision represents a hard setback for Senator Aécio Neves, the party’s licensed president, who defended the permanence of all four PSDB ministers in government. The three others are the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Aloysio Nunes), the Secretary of Govern (Antonio Imbassahy) and the Secretary of Human Rights (Luislinda Valois).
