With his image worn after the accusations of Operation Car Wash (Lava Jato), Senator Aecio Neves will have a very discrete participation in the next PSDB (Social-Democratic Party) national convention, scheduled for December 9, said the newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo on Friday (Dec.1).
Senator Neves, who has been removed from the party’s chairmanship since May, will not even make a small speech in the event that will bring the governor of Sao Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin, to the PSDB chairmanship.
The intention is to prevent the senator’s worn image from being in any way associated with that of Alckmin, a pre-candidate for next year presidencial elections. The transfer of the chairmanship, for example, should be in charge of Alberto Goldman, PSDB’a acting chairman. Allies of Alckmin want to avoid even that the Senator Neves is photographed next to the governor of Sao Paulo.
