The Brazilian School of Economics and Finance of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EPGE), in Rio de Janeiro, was the highest evaluated college in Brazil according to the General Index of Courses (IGC). In ten of such evalatuations made by he Ministry of Education (MEC), EPGE took the first position in six.
The second place was awarded to the School of Economics of Sao Paulo, also of the FGV, which was followed by the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA). The data refer to 2016, and take into account the notes of the Enade, evaluations carried out in schools and other indicators of quality of higher education.
Among the universities, the first position was the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), followed by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
