Senator Jose Serra said to have received US$ 16 million from Odebrecht

Former Odebrecht chairman Pedro Novis testified to the Federal Police that Senator Jose Serra (PSDB-SP) received for him or his  party R $ 52.4 million (about US $ 16 million at today’s Exchange rate) between 2002 and 2012.

The statements were made in a plea bargain on June 13, 2017 and disclosed Tuesday (Jan, 9) by the newspaper Valor Economico.

Through his press adviser,  senato Serra said that he ‘never received any kind of undue advantage’.

Pedro Novis reported that he met Serra in the 1980s, but only in 2002 did the toucan begin to ‘request resources’.

“This request occurred personally in the office or in the house of Jose Serra; who always finds himself alone with Jose Serra, in meetings scheduled through his personal secretary, “said the executive.
