Increase of 1.9% in the toll rates of vehicles on the roadways in 2017 indicates the resumption of economic activity. The information is from the Brazilian Highway Concessionaires Association – ABCR index, released on Wednesday Jan. 10th.
The growth reflects the cumulative increase in the light and heavy index, which varied by 2.2% and 1.1% respectively last year. According to analyst Thiago Xavier, of the Consultoria Trends, the increase in the total flow index is reflected in the recovery of the macroeconomic environment.
“The growth of the total index and of its openings in 2017 evidences the process of gradual resumption of economic activity over the last year, results that minimize the losses registered in 2016, when both the total index (-3.6%) , as mild (-2.8%) and heavy (-6.0%) accumulated losses “.
The toll rates of light and heavy vehicles showed expansion, respectively, of 0.7% and 2.5%, in relation to November, in the monthly seasonally adjusted comparison. The data is analyzed by the ABCR in conjunction with the Integrated Consultancy Trends.
