Elie Horn, a Jewish-Brazilian billionaire will bid for control over Israel’s leading telecom company Bezeq, said Michael Rochvarger in an article published Monday (Feb.5) in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. According to him, Mr. Horn would be the main financier behind the group lead by Tzahi and Chen Neuman Brothers.
The group is expected to submit a binding offer soon for Eurocom, the holding company that controls Bezeq . The move comes after Tel Aviv District Court Judge Eitan Orenstein put off a ruling on the fate of a Eurocom bailout until as late as April 22.
Horn is the is chairman and controlling shareholder of the Brazilian real estate giant Cyrela Brazil Realty.
