Projections business reached US $ 675 million for the next 12 months

Brazilian agribusiness linked to the Animal Protein Association (ABPA) realized US $ 96.2 million in export business of birds, eggs and pork, in action held during the Gulfood 2018 closed yesterday (22), Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

Participation in the event organized by the ABPA in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion (Apex-Brazil), had sixteen exporting agricultural industries of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo and Goiás.

According to a survey conducted by ABPA, projections of exports to be made from the trades made during the event reached US $ 675 million over the next 12 months – until the next edition of Gulfood.

“This event has a global character, with the participation of importers and potential customers in Asia, Africa and Europe. It is the most important international action for animal protein exporters from Brazil in the first half, “said Francisco Turra, chief executive of ABPA.

In addition to business meetings, the space of ABPA in the largest exhibition of Middle Eastern food featured a dining area, where they were served daily over 500 omelets and 1000 “shawarmas”, a traditional Arab dish.

There were also carried out actions of dissemination of international brand Brazilian Chicken, Brazilian Egg and Brazilian Pork (the latter, for foreigners living in the region and importers of non-Islamic countries), with the distribution of ecobags and materials with information about the exporters and differentials of the animal protein sector in Brazil, as the quality of products, the health status and sustainable production profile.

“Gulfood was a unique opportunity to contact customers and stakeholders in the Middle East and other export markets, strengthening the position of Brazil – the largest producer and exporter of halal chicken meat – as a partner for food security in the Arab world,” said Turra .
