The partnership between WTorre and the Dutch company Amsterdam Arena presented a proposal on Thursday (8), to manage sports and leisure facilities in the area of the National Stadium in Brasília Mané Garrincha. The concession is 25 years for stadium management and the group was the only one to submit an offer, which now enters the document review phase.
The continuity of the process now depends on the TCDF (Court of the Federal District), which provisionally suspended the announcement after the submission of tenders. The watchdog wants clarification on specific points of the feasibility study that was based on the bidding. There is no deadline for the court to decide whether or not to release the continuation of the dispute.
The stadium is a source of controversy since its construction. With costs estimated at more than R $ 1.5 billion, it is considered one of the most expensive in the world. The works ended up entering the crosshairs of the Federal Police, which investigates evidence of overpricing. After the World Cup, the stadium is being used and generates little monthly losses to the district government.
