President Michel Temer travels to Asunción (Paraguay) Monday Jun. 18th, where he will attend the Mercosur Summit (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as Venezuela – block since 2016). It is a meeting that occurs twice a year. Paraguay holds the temporary presidency of the economic bloc.
Trade and inclusion issues will be discussed in the negotiations with the European Union (EU) and the Pacific Alliance, as on July 24 there will be a summit in Mexico. The provision is to return to the priority of trade liberalization and consolidation of Mercosur.
In this meeting, the ground will be prepared to outline common rules on e-commerce within the bloc, according to official sources in Brazil. The digital agenda will be the topic of conversation as well.
Presidents should discuss strategies for alignment with the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico).
At 10:00 a.m., Temer takes part in the plenary session of the Mercosul Summit, at 1:15 p.m., there will be the official photo and at 1:30 p.m., lunch. The forecast is that he arrives in Brasilia at 7:30 p.m.
