President embarked for Paraguay, where he participates in the Mercosur Summit
Efore embarking on this morning Jun. 18th, to Paraguay, where he participates in the meeting of the Mercosur Summit, President Michel Temer forwarded the post to the President of the Supreme Court (STF), Minister Carmen Lucia, the Base Aerial of Brasilia. Temer returns to Brazil today, early in the evening.
In the Presidency of the Republic, Carmen Lúcia has an agenda of hearings with ministers, ambassadors and a governor. In the morning, at 11am, she receives the governor of Pará, Simão Jatene, the judge Ricardo Ferreira Nunes, of the Court of Justice of the State of Pará, and the attorney general of the State of Pará, Ophir Cavalcante Junior. In the afternoon agenda are scheduled hearings with the European Union ambassador João Gomes Cravinho and Denise Dowling; and with the ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Brazil, Milan Cigán. The last hearing of the day will be at 4:00 pm with the Attorney General of the Union, Grace Maria Mendonça, and the Minister of Finance, Eduardo Guardia.
It is the second time that Carmen Lúcia assumes the Presidency of the Republic in this pre-electoral period. The first was in April when he held the post during Michel Temer’s trip to Peru for the 8th Summit of the Americas.
