Given record results from the restoration of post-strike exports of truck and standardization flow of foreign trade statistics of the MDIC.
Brazilian exports of chicken meat (considering all products, including fresh and processed) reached 463,100 tons in July, reports the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The number, 20.6% higher than the 384,000 tons exported in the seventh month of 2017, is the largest monthly flow of shipments on record in the industry.
The jump in exports generated US $ 711.6 million revenue performance above the 15.7% reached in July last year, with US $ 614.8 million.
“The number of exports at record level is a direct consequence of the re – establishment of the level of shipments in ports after the end of roadblocks, as well as standardization of data flow in the new collection system MDIC information. At the same time, shows a quick response to the industry’s support of the Government, after the strike impacts of truck drivers, “says Francisco Turra, president of ABPA.
With the significantly higher number of exports last month, the balance of shipments recorded in 2018 reduced the levels of accumulated losses compared to the previous year. Between January and July this year, were exported 2.3 million tons, 8.2% below the 2.505 million tonnes effect the first seven months of 2017 (between January and June, the decline was 13.5%). Revenue from international sales this year totaled US $ 3.675 billion, 12.4% lower number than the $ 4.197 billion achieved last year.
“Considering the start date of the new methodology, accumulated in chicken meat exports reached far higher monthly average of 320 thousand tons, rate near the normal standards for poultry meat sector. In addition, it added the last two months, the average also recorded indicates recovery of export flow close to 350 000 tons, “says Ricardo Santin, executive director of ABPA.
Fresh pork – Exports of fresh pork totaled in July 57 thousand tons, 17.1% higher than the same period last year when 48,700 tons were shipped. With this performance, the industry’s revenue reached $ 105.8 million, 13.8% fewer than the balance of July 2017, with US $ 122.7 million.
Exports between January and July totaled 293,700 tonnes, 14.2% less than the 342,400 tons shipped in the first seven months of last year. Sales revenues reached $ 619.3 million, a result 28.2% lower than the $ 863 million achieved in 2017.
“The behavior seen in exports of pork is influenced by the same factors recorded the chicken. At the same time, they endure the strong purchases of products by the Chinese, reducing the impact of the Russian embargo on Brazilian industry. Despite this, considering the average of the last two months combined, we see shipments volumes of 43.4 thousand tons, as at the level of the average recorded in 2017, “says Santin.
