According to the Datafolha, 51% of people want the maintenance of the prison and sentencing of the former president, 37% want the freedom and an acquittal for the Worker’s Party.
Datafolha, released on Tuesday Oct. 2nd, points out that 51% of the population believe that former President Lula da Silva should remain in prison and sentenced. He has been imprisoned since April 7 and has been sentenced to 12 years and 1 month on charges of corruption and money laundering.
According to the survey, 37% of people interviewed believe that the former president should be released and forgiven. For 8% of respondents, Lula should remain convicted , but serve a sentence under house arrest. Another 4% did not know how to respond.
TheWorker’s Party has always denied all charges. He was convicted by Judge Sérgio Moro and is being held in the Federal Police Superintendency in Curitiba. The process is in a degree of appeal that must be judged by the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) and STF (Supreme Federal Court).
The Datafolha survey heard 3,240 people in 225 counties across the country. The margin of error is two percentage points more or less. The Datafolha survey was registered with the TSE
