Brazilian exports of chicken meat (considering all products, including fresh and processed) totaled 363,800 tons in September, reports the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). Despite overcoming the average of exports recorded in 2017 (360 thousand tons), the performance in the ninth month of 2018 was 6% lower than the total exports in September 2017, with 387,100 tons.
In revenue, the balance of September reached US $ 582.3 million, 8.8% lower number than the $ 638.6 recorded in the same period last year.
In the year, chicken meat sales abroad reach 3,060 million tons, 7.5% lower than the 3,308,000 tonnes recorded between January and September 2017. Already in revenue, the balance of 2018 is uS $ 4.889 billion, 11.5% lower than the result of cumulative sales in the first nine months of 2017, with uS $ 5.523 billion.
“The volume of exports recorded in September was significant before the fewer working days in the period, when compared to other months of the year,” says the president of ABPA, Francisco Turra.
Fresh pork – In September, pork shipments in kind totaled 48 thousand tons, 8.6% less than the 52,000 tons exported in the same period last year. In revenue, the reduction is 12.4%, to $ 110.8 million in September 2018, compared with $ 126.5 million of the ninth month of 2017.
Between January and September 2018, exports of this product reached 395,900 tons, 12.8% lower number than the 453,000 tons shipped in the same period of 2017. In terms of revenue the difference is 26.9%, with US $ 828.5 million in 2018 and $ 1.132 billion in 2017.
