Federal judge Sergio Moro, who is responsible for the trial of Car Wash cases, said today that if the invitation to compose the elected government of Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) is confirmed, he will reflect on the matter. The magistrate said he felt “honored” by the memory.
In note, Moro thanked the invitation. “On the public mention by the president elected to my name to compose the Federal Supreme Court when there is a vacancy or to be nominated as a minister of justice in his administration, I have only to say publicly that I am honored with the remembrance. If the invitation is timely made, it will be the object of careful discussion and reflection.”
Yesterday (29), in an exclusive interview with TV Record, the president-elect said he will soon talk to the magistrate , who lives in Curitiba, but did not say when the meeting will be.
During the four-year term, Bolsonaro can make two nominations to the Supreme. The next vacancy will open in 2020, when Minister Celso de Mello will turn 75 and must be compulsorily retired. The following year, it will be the turn of Minister Marco Aurélio to leave the Court.
