For the first time, the newly launched medium and super-medium executive jets Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 were presented by Embraer to the Brazilian public. The aircraft was on display for potential customers, at Congonhas Airport, in Sao Paulo, between November 5 and 6.
These are the only mid-sized and super-medium executive jets with full Fly-by-Wire electronic flight control technology and active turbulence reduction. The Praetor family jets bring unprecedented flight autonomy to their respective categories.
“The Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 jets are joining the Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 while maintaining every combination of performance, comfort and unprecedented technology for their categories,” said Gustavo Teixeira, Embraer Executive Aviation Sales Director for Latin America.
The Praetor 600 will be the most advanced and versatile super-medium executive jet that allows non-stop flights between São Paulo and Cape Town in South Africa, Fortaleza to Madrid, Manaus to New York or fly from Angra dos Reis to Miami, with a stop. The aircraft has a capacity for up to 12 passengers and intercontinental range of up to 3,900 nautical miles (7,223 km).
Praetor 500 will be the segment’s fastest mid-range aircraft, capable of reaching any city in South America from Brasilia. It has a range of up to 3,250 nautical miles (6,019 km) and a maximum capacity for 9 passengers.
The aircraft prototypes are in development and consolidation of the technical data in the Embraer units of São José dos Campos and Gavião Peixoto, in the interior of São Paulo. The Praetor 600 is expected to receive certification from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) in the second quarter of 2019, and the Praetor 500 will be homologated in the third quarter of that year.
