The structure of the Ministry of Agriculture, which may include fishing and family farming, will be defined this Tuesday (13), in Brasilia. The president-elect, Jair Bolsonaro, has a meeting scheduled with the federal deputy Tereza Cristina (DEM-MS), who will lead the briefing. The announcement of the name for the Ministry of the Environment that will work together with Agriculture is also awaited.
At the meeting, Tereza Cristina indicated that she wants to define with the president-elect the measures that could be adopted to ensure greater legal certainty for producers and the reduction of taxes. The federal MP is president of the FPA (Parliamentary Front of Agriculture) in the Chamber of Deputies.
Tereza Cristina said that her intention is to start work in the early hours of Monday (12). Agronomist and entrepreneur, she said she will sit down with technicians and experts from the current ministry to better understand how the work works. “It is time to listen very much now,” said the future minister.
For the federal deputy, the definition of the Ministry of the Environment, which would initially be merged with Agriculture, is also fundamental.
