The Argentine president Mauricio Macri confirmed that will come to the inauguration of president-elect, Jair Bolsonaro, on January 1, 2019. The information was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Argentine, Jorge Faurie.
Faurie, who will be in Brasilia this week for the meeting of MERCOSUR foreign ministers (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela, which is temporarily suspended), said the effort is to seek a trade agreement between the bloc and the European Union ( EU).
On Monday (10), Faurie will meet with members of the European Union. The agreement between Mercosur and the European Union has been negotiated for almost two decades and runs into specific sectors.
The chancellor said that Macri “already talked” with Bolsonaro “two or three times” and, on the last occasion, showed the “importance of being able to close this agreement” with the European Union.
