Angola’s Foreign Minister Manuel Domingos Augusto said today that his country’s good relationship with Brazil is independent of the government.
The statement of the head of the Angolan diplomacy was made during the reception offered to 60 foreign delegations and some other guests at the Itamaraty Palace, the seat of the Foreign Ministry, in the last stage of the inauguration ceremonies of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, according to information released by the G1 news portal.
Manuel Domingos Augusto stressed that Brazil’s relationship with Angola “has everything to succeed and improve,” and recalled that the Brazilian Vice President, Hamilton Mourão, lived for a year in Angola.
At the inauguration ceremony of Bolsonaro were ten heads of state, including the President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca.
The acts of possession were carried out in the capital, Brasília, under strict security measures with the participation of 12,000 members of the different police and army forces in Brazil.
