Michelle Bolsonaro made a surprise during the inauguration of Jair Bolsonaro on Jan. 1st and spoke in Libras (Language Brazil). The first lady spoke before the president in the parlor of the Planalto Palace.
“Good afternoon everyone. It is a great honor and a great joy to be here. A time to thank all of you, Brazilians and Brazilians, for all the support and affection from the beginning of our campaign. ”
During the speech, the first lady thanked for the “solidarity in difficult moments” that Bolsonaro passed and thanked Carlos Bolsonaro, son of the president, for having stayed with his father after the attack. “In particular, I want to thank my stepchild Carlos for all help and partnership during the 23 days we spent in the hospital in São Paulo.”
“From now on, as a first lady, I can expand more significantly. It is a great satisfaction, a privilege to be able to work for the whole Brazilian society, “she declared. “The elections gave voice to those who were not heard and the Brazilian citizen wants security, peace, and prosperity,” he continued.
At the end of the speech, Michelle stated that “people with disabilities will be valued” and “they will have the rights respected”. The first lady still broke the protocol and, at the request of the public, kissed Jair Bolsonaro.
