President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday, Jan. 3rd that the government will attract about 7 billion reais in investments with concessions for railroads, airports, and port terminals, referring to projects scheduled to be auctioned in the previous government, but that remained for the current management due to delays.
“We will quickly attract initial investments of around R $ 7 billion, with railroad concessions, 12 airports, and 4 port terminals. With the trust of the investor under conditions favorable to the population we will redeem the initial development of Brazil’s infrastructure,” Bolsonaro said in a message on Twitter.
The government of former President Michel Temer has scheduled auctions for the North-South railroad from 12 airports and four port terminals in March this year after months of setbacks caused a delay at the end of last year.
According to the estimates of the Investment Partnership Program (PPI), the granting of the projects must raise more than 4.5 billion reais, of which 1.35 billion reais is related to the railroad.
