Petrobras has begun a lawsuit seeking to lease its fertilizer plants, located in Sergipe (Fafen-SE) and Bahia (Fafen-BA), the company said in a statement on Thursday. at the same time, it formalized the dismissal of directors.
The company explained that in relation to the Fafens, it initiated a prequalification procedure, aiming to qualify companies that have an interest in participating in future tenders for the leasing of factories, including the maritime terminals of ammonia and urea in the Port of Aratu (BA).
“The transfer of the operation depends on the existence of qualified parties in the stage of pre-qualification and the execution of the bidding process, still subject to the approval of the Executive Board,” Petrobras said in the statement.
According to the oil company, Fafen-BA is a nitrogen fertilizer unit with a total urea production capacity of 1,300 tons per day and also markets ammonia, carbon dioxide and automotive liquid reducing agent (Arla 32).
Fafen-SE is a nitrogen fertilizer unit with a total urea production capacity of 1,800 t/day. It also markets ammonia, carbon dioxide, and ammonium sulfate.
At the same time, Petrobras said that its Board of Directors approved the dismissal of Solange Guedes from the position of Executive Director of Exploration and Production from January 20, and from Hugo Repsold Júnior as the Executive Director of Production Development & Technology, from the 12th.
According to the company, the Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer, Rafael Salvador Grisolia, will hold the positions of Executive Director of Exploration and Production and Executive Director of Strategy, Organization, and Management System.
Already Eberaldo de Almeida Neto, executive director of Corporate Affairs, will hold the post of executive director of Production & Technology Development, in addition to the position of executive director of Refining and Natural Gas that he had accumulated.
Petrobras also pointed out that the names of the newly appointed directors — Anaelise Quintao Lara — for the Executive Director of Refining and Natural Gas, Carlos Alberto Pereira de Oliveira for executive director of Exploration and Production, Lauro Cotta for executive director of Strategy, Organization and Management System and Rudimar Andreis Lorenzatto as executive director of Production & Technology Development – are following the company’s internal corporate governance procedures.
