According to researchers from Cepea, the largest production of hydrous ethanol has raised biofuel stocks in Central-South Brazil.
Thus, Paulista units had to yield in sales prices. Between January 7 and 11, CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for hydrated ethanol closed at R $ 1.6354/liter (without ICMS and without tax PIS/Cofins), down 1.91% from the previous week. In the same comparison, the CEPEA/ESALQ indicator was R $ 1.8156/liter (without tax PIS/Cofins), down 0.94%.
Hydrous ethanol fuel has 95.1% to 96% ethanol while the remaining is water. Anhydrous ethanol (also called pure ethanol or absolute ethanol) has at least 99.6% alcoholic strength. Thus, the anhydrous alcohol is essentially pure ethanol.
