It is with great pride that we inform that Ronaldo Mota, chancellor at Estacio Group, one of the largest higher education groups in Brazil, has been unanimously elected to be a member of the Brazilian Academy of Education. He will occupy chair no. 8.
“I am especially honored to occupy the chair originally dedicated to Anísio Teixeira, the main person responsible for the Manifesto of the Pioneers of Education in 1932, one of the most remarkable events in the history of Brazilian education,” he said, recalling that he also held the Anísio Chair Teixeira chair at the Institute of Education/University of London in the years 2012-2013.
RONALDO MOTA is also a writer/lecturer in the areas of New Technologies and Innovative Methodologies in Education. He completed postdoctoral studies at the Universities of Utah in the United States and British Columbia in Canada. Previously, he was Rector of Estácio de Sá University, Professor of Physics at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Researcher in Physics at CNPq level 1, Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Education, University of London in the United Kingdom, and, as a member of the Brazilian Ministry of Education, National Secretary of Technological Development and Innovation, National Secretary of Higher Education, National Secretary of Distance Education and Acting Minister of the Ministry of Education. He was decorated by the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil as Commander, in the Grand Cross Class, of the Order of National Scientific Merit.
