Venezuela’s interim president, Juan Guaidó, today named (5) the names of the new Venezuelan ambassadors to Brazil, Paraguay, and Guatemala.
The National Constituent Assembly, the country’s parliament, approved the nominations. Guaido, the opposition leader who proclaimed himself interim president of Venezuela on January 23, confirmed in his Twitter account the names of the new ambassadors in the three countries.
For Brazil, was appointed political analyst and specialist in international affairs Maria Teresa Belandria. David Olsen will assume the representation of Venezuela in Paraguay and María Teresa Romero will lead the embassy in Guatemala.
In her Twitter account, María Teresa Belandria presents herself as a lawyer with a doctorate in political science and a professor of international public and arts law.
Brazil, Paraguay, and Guatemala are among the first countries to recognize the legitimacy of the Guaido administration.
