The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) informs that exports of chicken meat (considering all products, including fresh and processed) totaled 281.8 thousand tons in January. The volume is 14.7% lower than the 330,500 tons shipped in the same period 2018.
In revenue, exports of chicken meat in the month reached US $ 453 million, a balance 12.9% below the result of January last year, with US $ 520.2 million.
Exports of pork (all products, including fresh and processed) reached 48.5 thousand tons, 10.7% less than the 54,400 tons exported in the first month of 2018.
With this performance, the foreign exchange result of exports closed the month at $ 91.6 million, a 17.8% decrease compared to the balance of the same period of 2018, with US $ 111.4 million.
“There were isolated declines in export flows, which should be already taken in February,“ said Francisco Turra, president of ABPA.
