Petrobras started on Wednesday, Feb. 20th, the production of oil and natural gas of the platform P-76 (floating unit of production, storage, and transfer of oil and natural gas) in the field of Buzios, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. It is the third platform of the company to go into processing in the area.
The facility has the capacity to process up to 150,000 barrels of oil daily and compress up to 6 million cubic meters of natural gas and is the second platform to start operations this year, out of a total of four scheduled to go into production by 2019, in line with the Petrobras Strategic Plan.
The P-76 is located approximately 180 kilometers off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth of 2,030 meters. Buzios field, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, was discovered in 2010 and began to be produced in April 2018.
