The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia, said on Monday that he had warned the government of President Jair Bolsonaro that it would be very difficult to approve Pension Reform until the sending of the bill on the pension reform of the military.
Maia stressed that in an event of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, he committed to the Planalto Palace not to set the reform of the military before the vote on the proposed amendment to the Constitution.
“The military, the government will forward and I warned the government that it will be very difficult to process the constitutional amendment without sending the bill (military reform),“ said Maia during the event.
“I have already committed to the government that I only vote for the military the next day that we finish voting on the constitutional amendment. I think it’s fair, but I think they have to send [the reform of the military] as soon as possible because it actually delays the constitutional amendment. “
