The vice president of the Republic, Hamilton Mourao, said last night (27) that a civil war in Venezuela is a ‘possible scenario. He gave the statement when asked about the crisis in the neighboring country, in an interview on the GloboNews Television.
Mourao said that the situation can be considered, given the maintenance of the regime of Nicolas Maduro in power. “The scenario of civil war is a possible scenario, because of the situation that the country is experiencing,“ he said.
The Brazilian vice president also related the crisis to the presence of “20,000 to 60,000“ Cubans placed by Maduro in Venezuelan intelligence and security sectors, which Mourao called a “strange force“.
