Chicken Meat Exports Reach 316,900 Tons in February

China increases purchases and monthly assumes leadership among importers

Brazilian chicken exports (considering all products, including fresh and processed) reached 316,900 tons in February, reports the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The figure is 2.2% higher than the same period last year when they were shipped 310,200 tons
In revenue, the result of the second month of 2019 is 6.3% higher compared to the previous year.

They were $526 million this year, compared to $494.9 million compared to February 2018.
In two months, the balance of chicken meat exports reached 598,700 tons, 6.6% less than the 640,700 tons shipped in the same period last year. In revenue, bimonthly sales reached US $979.1 million, a result 3.6% lower than the US $1.015 billion generated in 2018.

The main highlight of the month is China, which has taken the lead among the destinations of Brazilian exports in February. The Chinese market imported in the period 38 800 tons, increasing their purchases by 11% compared to the second month of 2018. In the quarter, the increase in sales to the Chinese market reaches 5%, to 72 500 tons.

South Korea, which recently enabled over 4 plants exporting poultry also increased their purchases. In the month, the increase came to 24%, with 8200 tons. In two months, the increase is 6%, with total shipments of 15.6 thousand tons.
