The General Price Index-Internal Availability (IGP-DI) recorded inflation of 0.9% in April. The rate is lower than that of March (1.07%). According to the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), the index accumulates inflation of 3.33% in the year and 8.25% in 12 months.
The rate drop was driven by wholesale and retail prices. Broad Producer Price Index inflation, which measures wholesale prices, fell from 1.35% in March to 1.09% in April.
The Consumer Price Index, which measures retail, fell from 0.65% to 0.63% in the period.
On the other hand, the National Construction Cost Index rose from 0.31% in March to 0.38% in April. The IGP-DI was calculated based on prices collected between April 1st and 30th.
